Welcome to Allegro

Located at 120 Broad Street on the Charleston Peninsula, Allegro prepares students in grades 6-12 for the pursuit of creative work in any field, using music as a medium to inspire and foster creativity, coupled with a strong academic program.

The vision of the school is aligned with the purpose of the SC Charter School Act to "create new, innovative, and more flexible ways of educating children within the public school system, with the goal of closing achievement gaps between low performing student groups and high performing student groups." Download our Charter Application here to read more about our mission and vision for the school, as well as details on our curriculum.

Governor Henry McMaster just issued an executive order closing school in Charleston County in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian.

Allegro Charter School of Music will be closed beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Schools will already be closed on Monday, September 2nd due to the Labor Day holiday.

The timeline for reopening will be determined by the status of evacuation orders, path of the storm, and degree of impact to our facility. Allegro will make every effort to keep this page and our website updated, along with sending emails to our parents as changes occur. If in doubt, please follow the direction of Charleston County School District on reopening.

State law requires that students make-up at least three missed instructional days, those days have already been published on the CCSD School calendar and are as follows: November 25, November 26, and April 13.

Stay safe and we encourage our families to follow the direction and instructions provided by emergency management officials.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of Allegro Charter School of Music is to produce inspired thinkers and creative members of society through the infusion of music into an academically challenging environment.
